Winter Life Hacks

The cold and dry winter can bring a lot of inconvenience to our lives. Today, I’ve gathered 18 winter life hacks to help you tackle the winter troubles. Quickly bookmark them!

.When you have a cold and your nose is rubbed red and swollen, simply apply lip balm to your nose. The next day, your nose will feel much better.

.When your lips are dry and cracked in winter, simply apply honey before bedtime. You’ll wake up with moist lips, even better than using lip balm.

.If you feel itchy all over your body in winter due to dryness, do not scratch with your hands. Scratching may break the skin and lead to secondary infections. Instead, drink more water and eat fruits to prevent and treat the dryness.

.Pig oil and honey ointment for chilblains: Take 20 grams of pig oil and 80 grams of honey, mix them together to form an ointment, apply it to the affected area three times a day, and you will see improvement in a few days.

.Jujube remedy for cracked hands and feet: Take several jujubes, remove the pits, cook them in water until it forms a paste, and apply it to the cracked area. Do this twice a day, and you’ll notice improvement in a few days.

.During the low-temperature season, rub your ears and hands daily. Then, use a hairdryer to blow warm air on these areas for a short while to provide mild prevention against frostbite.

.During the autumn and winter seasons, cook white radishes and carrots daily. Consume a small bowl of both the soup and vegetables in the morning and evening. Persisting in this routine over the long term can alleviate coughing.

.If the sweater cuffs or hem lose elasticity, soak them in hot water for 20 minutes, then air dry in a well-ventilated area to restore elasticity.

.To eliminate the strong odor from clothes after eating hot pot, mix 100ml of distilled water with 2 drops of lemon and 2 drops of eucalyptus. Spray the mixture on the surface of the clothes to remove the odor.

.If cotton clothes have mildew stains, rub the affected areas with a few green bean sprouts repeatedly. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove the mildew stains.

.For suede shoes with stains, you can gently file away the dirt with a nail file.

.To remove water, snow, or salt stains on leather boots, you can use a soft brush dipped in white vinegar to gently brush them off.

.For washing wool sweaters, soak them in warm water with an appropriate amount of dry-cleaning detergent and ammonia. During rinsing, add a few drops of vinegar to help restore the wool fabric’s original luster and softness.

.If white sweaters turn dark after prolonged wear, wash the sweater and then put it in the freezer for an hour. Take it out and let it air dry, and it will be as white as new.

.To prevent shedding, especially for materials like rabbit fur, store the sweater in the refrigerator before wearing each time.

.For cleaning down jackets, start by soaking them in warm water and using a soft-bristle brush for scrubbing. Add a bit of white vinegar during the process. This not only cleans thoroughly but also eliminates any unwanted odors from the duck down without leaving white marks.

.To alleviate the annoyance of static electricity in winter, touch your hand or a metal object with your back before opening doors or handling metal items. You can also use a key instead of your hand to touch metal objects to disperse the electric charge. Additionally, wear clothing made of pure cotton, walk barefoot indoors, and use a humidifier to increase indoor humidity, which helps prevent the occurrence of static electricity.

.Winter health dishwashing method: Boil water and add a little starch (cornstarch). When the water turns slightly white, cool it down with cold water until it’s comfortable to touch. Wear gloves and wash the dishes once, then rinse with cold water after the oil is removed. This method saves time, is efficient, and eco-friendly without harming your hands.
